MEDIUM MARINE DIESEL ENGINE DYNO TESTThis evaluation was performed on an M&W water brake dynamometer at Marine Corporation of America.
Laboratory: Marine Corporation of America Franklin Indiana Firing pressures are a result of fuel and air mixtures and the percentage fuel burnt or combusted. The more complete the burn in the combustion chamber, the higher the firing pressures will be. Fuel consumption decreased by about 10% without loss of power. If exhaust gas temperature immediately outside the combustion chamber increases it is a sign that combustion did not occur in the planned time or did not complete in the combustion chamber. When exhaust gas temp decreases it is a sign that unburned HC coming out of the combustion chamber is lowered and a sign that more energy was extracted from the fuel in the combustion chamber where it is most desirable. |
