- A trial in October 2004 by Global Marine Systems Limited found that significant reductions in emissions were noted and fuel savings were in the region of 7%.
- A test on US Navy patrol vessels established a 21% improvement in fuel efficiency for their patrol craft (Opti–Max Mercury outboards, twin 150 HP engines).
- The Medium Marine Diesel Engine Dyno Test found a 2HP increase in horsepower and a reduction in fuel flow.
- The Large Marine Diesel Engine Field Test was carried out on an Ohio River tugboat powered with two 3600HP EMD engines running at the same RPM. The starboard engine is equipped with the Fitch Fuel Catalyst, the port engine is not. The reduction in emissions is visually obvious.
